This is unsuitable as a chemical probe: While this
compound has been used to interrogate specific protein
targets, it is not a chemical probe and should not be used
in assays that depend on a potent and selective modulator
of the protein.
Non selective compound
Non-selective compound; intended target = Pi3K. From Gharbi et al 2007; LY294002 not only binds to class I PI3Ks and other PI3K-related kinases, but also to novel targets seemingly unrelated to the PI3K family (DOI: 10.1042/BJ20061489).
