Carles Galdeano

Dr. Carles Galdeano is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. He completed his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Barcelona, with two visiting research stays at Virginia Tech (USA) and CNRS (France). Following his PhD, he spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher in Alessio Ciulli's lab, first at the University of Cambridge and later at the University of Dundee, where they developed the first potent VHL ligands. His postdoctoral work represented a major breakthrough in the field of PROTACs. In 2015, Dr. Galdeano returned to the University of Barcelona to collaborate with Prof. Barril under a Beatriu de Pinós Fellowship, a position he held until 2019, when he established his own independent research group. In parallel, in December 2021 he co-founded Oniria Therapeutics.
